El temps i l’espai són indivisibles; l’espai buit és tan important com l’espai que s’omple; el buit interactua amb la substància i li dóna forma. El concepte de Ma pot referir-se als buits en una escultura, als intervals espacials en arquitectura, al silenci entre les notes d’una cançó o a les pauses en la pronunciació d’una frase.
